The Actual Reason Justin Bieber Declined Usher’s 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show Invitation

Usher reveals why Justin Bieber wasn’t a special guest during his 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show with Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and more.
Usher understands Justin Bieber’s intentions.
In fact, “Yes!” The musician claimed he doesn’t harbor any resentment toward the “Baby” singer for turning down a request to be a special guest at his 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.

“I think it may be true that he wants to tell a different story right now,” Usher explained during a February 16 appearance on The Breakfast Club, “and I understand that.”

Usher stated that although they had only “briefly talked” about the prospect, the couple—who have worked together on songs including 2010’s “Somebody to Love”—planned to be back together in the future.
He added, “We’re going to do something else in the future.” “No love lost or anything like that.”

After all, Justin—who showed his support for the “Burn” singer by attending the Feb. 11 athletic event—wasn’t the only performer to turn down Usher’s request to share the Allegiant Stadium stage with them.

“It’s a lot of pressure to do the Super Bowl, so I reached out to everyone,” Usher said. “Justin wasn’t the only person I talked to about doing the Super Bowl, but that moment was probably for later.”
Even though Justin has chosen not to attend the esteemed event this time around, Usher is sure that the Grammy winner will never say never.

“He’s going to be a player in the Super Bowl,” Usher said.
“I’ll go ahead and give that to you in the future. I claim this on his life. as his career is deserving of it.”
Ultimately, Usher still got plenty of love from his colleagues on the Super Bowl stage, where he performed hits like “My Boo,” “Yeah!,” Love in This Club” and “OMG.” Jermaine Dupri, H.E. R., Will.I.am, Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, and Ludacris all came out to perform with the 45-year-old.

Addressing all of his special guests, Usher wrote in a Feb. 12 Instagram post, “Thank you for being a part of this once-in-a-lifetime moment.”
And Justin proved it’s never too late to express regret and congratulations on the achievement. “Love you, my brother,” he wrote on Instagram after the scene. “No one can sing and dance like you. My deepest affection is for you.”
