In a video posted to Daily Drama’s YouTube channel on Monday, the 53-year-old veteran soap actor shared a glimpse of his return to the set of the ABC program — and revealed what’s in store for his big comeback.

“So, the weird thing is I’m back on set! We’re getting ready to shoot right now,” he began.

“So, listen. I need to talk to the head writers, this story is going to suck,” he teased again. “It’s going to be amazing. So, make sure you stay tuned because the puzzle pieces will fit together when I return.”
Steve Burton said his official return date is March 4, adding, “Stay tuned, stay tuned!”
Steve Burton played Jason Morgan on General Hospital from 1991 until his exit in 2012. He eventually returned to the daytime series in 2017 but was let go in 2021 due to his refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I wanted you to hear it from me in person,” Steve Burton previously said in an Instagram video. “Unfortunately, the vaccination requirement caused General Hospital to fire me. I applied for my medical and religious exemptions, and they were both denied. Which, you know, hurts. But it’s mine It’s also about personal freedom. I don’t think anyone should lose their livelihood because of this.”
Burton then thanked his co-stars and fans, saying, “I will always be grateful for the time I spent at General Hospital. I love it there. I grew up there. I’ll be there for some of you.” Grew up together.”

Despite his unexpected departure, the actor expressed hope that “maybe one day if these mandates are lifted,” he could “come back and finish his career as Jason Morgan.”
“It would be an honor,” he concluded. “And if not, I will always be grateful for this incredible experience and carry it forward.”

The 53-year-old actor has announced his exit from the show, where he reprised his role of Harris Michaels on the soap opera, in early 2023, as well as the Peacock spinoff Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. Steve has left the show just weeks after finalizing his divorce from ex-wife Sherry Gustin.
In May 2022, Steve revealed on Instagram that his then-wife was pregnant with their fourth child, but it was not his, after which he filed for divorce two months later.

More than a year later, the divorce was finalized in 2023, with Us Weekly reporting that he would have to pay her $12,500 per month in child support for their two children until April 2024. Then, he has to pay $10k. Per month, per child. The former couple have three children, Mckenna, 20, Jack, 17, and Brooklyn, 9.
He must also pay Sherri spousal support of $2,500 per month until his payments total $50k.

Steve first appeared on Days of Our Lives in 1988 before leaving the show. Then, in 1991 he joined General Hospital, where he appeared until 2012. Subsequently, he appeared on The Young and the Restless until 2017 and returned to GH until 2021.

Details about the return are being kept under wraps, but they will have “an exciting new story” and will star alongside a veteran cast including Stephen Nichols, Mary Beth Evans, Deidre Hall, and Drake Hogestyn, according to the streamer via People.

The 52-year-old actor made his daytime television debut on Days of Our Lives in 1988 and recently reprised his role of Harris for the Peacock Original Series spinoff Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.
In September, Days of Our Lives premiered on Peacock.

The child is not mine. Our three lovely children are still being raised by us as coparents. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much love, Steve.”
